Call of Duty 5 World at War Multiplayer

I had many problems getting the 'MultiPlayer of Call Of Duty 5 world at war' to work so I took the time to make a 'little' tutorial.

this should work fine tested on 2 PCs

PLEASE READ THE WHOLE THING BECAUSE IT's NECESSARY !


1.install game

2.install patch 1.2 then 1.4

3.create the following folders


for XP C:\Documents and Settings\'user name'\Local Settings\Application Data\Activision\CoDWaW\players\profiles\
and for Vista  C:\Users\'user name'\AppData\Local\Activision\CoDWaW\players\profiles\


4. in the profiles folder -> create a new folder (!name of folder will be your future account name!)

5. in the profiles folder (again) -> create active.txt (text document)


-- you should now have 2 things in the 'profiles folder' => active.txt and a folder that goes by your future account name --


6. open the active.txt and write the future account name into it. (if your future account name is 'lol' then write 'lol' into the active.txt)


7. now you need the 'pbsetup' application


8. run the pbsetup - > click add game and select Call of Duty: World at War


-- you should see it now below (In the application of course) --


9. click 'check for updates' button and it will update your pb-client to the newest version.


10. after the PBsetup you will need this -> 'COD5 Privat Client Patch 1.4 NO PB KICK' it's an application, that you will run in background .. (everytime you wanna play cod5mp)

- use google or use this link:



(somewhere it's listed as malicious software, but ignore that) - you wanna play, don't you ?

11. after downloading 'COD5 Privat Client Patch 1.4 NO PB KICK' --> RUN IT !

-- you will get a nice logo of COD5 --


ok, so here it comes:


12. start CoDWaWmp.exe -- ( forget the cracked CoDWaWmp.exe - you need the original file ! )


13. ingame -> press F3 to enable the client patch - this will allow you to connect to a cracked server - without pressing F3 the 'join server' button will not respond !


14. connect to a server by adding it into your favorites or using console -> connect followed by the desired ip address.

15. you show now be able to play online, (BUT READ ON !!!)



---> after the game is starting up you need to press F4 to deactivate the client patch -> (if you dont do that - after 1minute -> error CORRUPT memory error will occur)

-- REMEMBER - after exiting a server, you need to repeat the process with F3 and F4 if you want to connect again to the same or a different server !




ADDITIONAL INFO THAT IS REAAAAALY NECESSARY TO KNOW !!!

after your exit the game (return to windows) and want to play again you will NEED TO DO THIS:


1. go to your profiles folder (that you created in step 3.) and open your account folder

2. in it -> delete the config_mp.cfg file - if you not gonna do this - forget about playing again Very Happy


(this is necessary, because if not deleted before each play -> NO PLAY !)



hint 1.: if a '$$$' folder is created by itself in the profiles folder - you did something wrong ! (delete it and re-do the step 6.)

hint 2.: DO NOT DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT FOLDER - you will loose all progress, just delete the config_mp file !!

hint 3.: by deleting the config_mp file, the settings ingame (like controls and graphics, also custom class names) will be reset to defaults. - pittyfull, but true...
it will not delete your custom classes thou... just the names of them !!
